Cross breeding

The dog is a cross breed between a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky. The cross is done only with a male Pomeranian and a female Husky to avoid any complications. This also keeps the size of the puppies closer to that of the Pomeranian parent.

The Pomsky diet

The dog is extremely playful and energetic; therefore it needs to have its caloric intake watched carefully. It is supposed to be provided with high calorie foods and at times supplements are needed to ensure that its requirements are met. As always, we feed and recommend Health Extension brand dog food and supplements. It’s a family-owned company that makes everything right here in the US!

Most hybrid breeds take the average weight of their two parents. Pomskies are known to weigh in between 20 to 30 pounds. However, if they are not engaged in play and exercise they might become overweight. Therefore it’s important to ensure that puppies are engaged in play, training exercises and lots of walks. Also, it’s important to check on what they eat, although they need high calorie food, they should be fed in moderation and in line with their physical activities.

The dog falls in the category of the canine friends who are highly intelligent. They respond well to training. Howeve,r if the designer dog inherits more of the Pomeranian’s characteristics of stubbornness, it should be handled with a firm training hand and lots of treats! Calmness and assertive leadership, failure to observe this may lead to behavioral problems or develop what is known as the small dog syndrome.

If you are looking for a pomsky for sale, rest assured that you will get a dog that will not only make you very happy, but also be fun for your family! Give us a call today to learn more about our Pomskies for sale!
